About the role
We are currently looking for driven Plant Operators/Excavator Operators to join our dedicated team in Cairns. We encourage Indigenous, Torres Strait Islander Peoples and female candidates to apply. The successful candidate/s will operate a range of earth-moving plant to assist in civil construction works.
At HEH Civil, you will be working in a small, cohesive team with other experienced members of our civil construction teams. Regular overtime is available when required. Ongoing training and development are on offer for the right candidate.
What you will need to be considered:
- Demonstrated ability to drive and operate designated plant (from 5T to 30T excavator) Compactors, Loaders on subsoil, rock protection, top soil, drains, batters, subgrade and carry out operations as required.
- Ability to operate and monitor excavating machinery equipped with moveable shovel, grab-bucket or dragline bucket, to excavate and move earth, rock, sand, gravel or similar materials.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake basic plant and equipment maintenance in accordance with agreed practice.
- Ability to follow operating manuals and procedures.
- Able to ensure all tools and equipment are safe to use and stored correctly.
- Demonstrated ability to detect operating problems, troubleshoot and take corrective action when necessary.
- Experience with the operation of front-end loaders, skid steers and backhoes.

Salary & Benefits
