Project Engineer

About the role
The Project Engineer’s responsibility will be to provide engineering support, technical advice and guidance to the delivery team. You will deliver across multiple scopes with the support of the Project Manager and Site Engineers, forecasting, planning, and managing subcontractors and supervisors to ensure works are delivered safely to a high standard in line with project objectives. Previous experience in transport/ main roads is essential. This is a permanent full-time role based in South East Queensland.
What you will need to be considered:
- Proven site-based experience as Project Engineer
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant standards, specifications and requirements
- Highly developed planning and problem-solving skills, including strong analytical and strategic thinking
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Demonstrated strong communication skills to effectively communicate and engage internally and externally
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team
- Ability to frequently reprioritise tasks and be flexible
- Demonstrated strong leadership qualities and the ability to effectively negotiate solutions
- Demonstrated ability with providing your engineering experience to the project/s.
- Proven ability to manage sub-contractors on site and ensure the project is complying with safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability in developing and maintaining project plans to ensure projects run on time and in budget.
- Proven ability to provide technical advice and implement project plans using your experience and qualifications.
- Engineering Degree recognised by Engineers Australia
You will be accountable for:
- Preparation and monitoring of site management plans, including construction, quality, safety, traffic and environmental plans.
- Procurement of job materials and subcontractors.
- Monitoring, planning and reporting of project costs including, valuation and forecasting.
- Communicating effectively with the delivery team, Management, stakeholders and clients.
- Value manage and contribute to improvements and innovations.
- Provide technical advice, responses and solutions.
- Assisting with the tendering process, including writing methodologies, construction project programs, assisting with quantity take-offs, acquiring quotations and tender pricing.
- Supporting Supervisors and Site Engineers ensuring the growth and development of your team.
