HEH Civil Awarded Next Stage of Eastern Aviation Precinct at Cairns Airport
HEH Civil is proud to announce that we have been awarded the next stage of the Eastern Aviation Precinct project at Cairns Airport. These works involve ground preparation for future hanger sites as well as an access road that will see Cairns Airport infrastructure improved and expanded.
This marks another significant milestone in supporting the region’s growing aviation infrastructure needs.
Project Overview
Construction is already underway, with major progress being made on-site. The scope of works for this stage includes:
- Import and placement of over 40,000 tonnes of engineered earth fill
- Installation of more than 15,000 tonnes of drainage rock
- Deployment of over 17,000 vertical wick drains, each extending 8 metres deep
These works are critical to preparing the site for future aviation development and enhancing the airport’s operational capacity.
Looking Ahead
The project is scheduled for completion by early December 2025, aligning with broader infrastructure goals for the Cairns region. HEH Civil is proud to contribute to this transformative development and remains committed to delivering high-quality outcomes for our partners and the community.
