Noah’s Range Slip Stabilisation – Project Update

In December 2023, ex Cyclone Jasper caused heavy rainfall and a major slope failure on Noah’s Range along the Cape Tribulation–Bloomfield Road. HEH Civil, in partnership with Redfox Consultancy, secured the stabilisation project under Douglas Shire Council.

Scope of Works

  • Soil nailing – supply, drill and install soil nail systems to stabilise the slip face.
  • Concrete FRP works (fibre reinforced polymer concrete) for structural strengthening.
  • Gabion baskets – supply and install gabion systems for erosion control and structural support.
  • Road furniture upgrades, including new guardrails.
  • Gravel re sheeting on affected road sections.
  • Stormwater supply & installation, improving drainage and resilience across the stabilised zone.

Special Site Conditions
